Will FotoSort delete my files?

Not in Dry Run. In normal use, copy mode leaves originals untouched. Move and delete behaviors are controlled by user-selected settings.

What is Dry Run?

Dry Run simulates the entire sort without touching files. It shows what would happen, exports a preview plan, and helps you verify the result first.

Can I undo a sort?

FotoSort can save an undo manifest for real runs so you can reverse supported file operations later.

Should I use copy or move?

Use copy first. It creates a sorted version in your destination while leaving originals where they are. Move is better for experienced users.

Does FotoSort upload my photos?

No. FotoSort is designed as a local macOS utility. Your files stay on your machine, external drive, or NAS.

Can I use external drives or NAS?

Yes. FotoSort supports local folders, external drives, and NAS network shares. Local and external drives are usually faster than NAS.

What happens with duplicates?

FotoSort can detect duplicates, log them, move them, or skip them depending on your selected settings.

What file types are supported?

FotoSort is built for images and videos, including common photo formats and RAW plus JPEG workflows.
